Starship

By Pete Juengst

This vessel is the equivalent of today's over the road truck, a sort of interstellar "semi". The power source for this ship is a focused translocator reactor, which is a mass-mass converter. Two equal masses are "transported" to the center of the spherical chamber, and allowed to exist in the same space at the same time. The energy released, is converted by the refractory lining of the chamber, and used to power the ships systems. Main engines, and attitude control ( roll, pitch, and yaw) are Velocity Amplifiers, solid core mass engines which have inertia induced into them, aligned to the longitudinal axis of the core. If inertia (motion) can be transferred by mechanical contact, why not by field induction? The increase in mass, as velocity increases, allows the field to have an increasing effect on the core, hence the "amplifier" terminology.

Why would it be armed? Pirates.

The model is built approximately 1/64th scale and was inspired by the "millenium Falcon". The model was "grown" from various kit parts, pill bottles, flash cubes, pantyhose "eggs", styrene rod, tube, strip, and a plastic shotglass for the main cockpit. The figures came from a kit of a "garbage truck" that was a stage for a rock band.
