This is the custom add-on mod. I designed for the SMT 1/48 scale Cloakshape Fighter kit; it’s available from SMT.
This improved version of the Cloakshape Fighter adds a large booster to the main engine, providing a good 40% more thrust. The added power endows this version with a speed better than many modern starfighters. The armament of the ship has also been modified to handle heavy external ordnance carried on 4 underwing pylons. These improvements, coupled with the Cloakshape's inherent ruggedness, has transformed the aging design into a formidable low-cost heavy assault fighter. Although the added hardware has drastically eroded the fighter's handling and agility, it's speed, toughness and firepower makes up for the negatives, and has become a popular upgrade for many Cloakshape operators.
