USS Exeter

By Andy Henshaw

This is the ERTL 1/2500 TOS Enterprise (built as the USS Exeter).

I've painted this one with humbrol satin #196 (I think it's a very light ghost gray). The paneling effect is done with pastels. Decals are courtesy of JT Graphics (for the name and registry) as well as Clark Bradshaw's excellent decals (available for download from this site).

The model has been pretty extensively accurized. I have shortened the warp nacelles to make them more accurate in proportion to the saucer (which also makes it more accurate in length compared to the ERTL Ent-A model as well). I've also scratch built a new lower planetary sensor dome (which required a little bit of reshaping of the lower saucer), reshaped the B/C deck and bridge, and built a new impulse engine. The deflector dish is also scratch built.
