Following the Earth/Minbari war, the Earth Alliance military was far too weakened to defend its far-flung colonies that managed to survive the fighting. So individual colonies started hiring "privateers" or mercenary forces to defend themselves against human and alien species that would take advantage of the weakened condition of the EACM (Earth Alliance Colonial Military).

This particular Starfury is a part of mercenary force that was hired to protect the military industrial colony of New America in the Sirius star system. This starfury sports several mods and new upgrades such as Reactive Armor Plating -giving the starfury a much better survivability against heavy energy based weapons. High energy positron point defense system allowing over 180deg. of protection for each side of the fighter. Though primarily designed for anti-missle protection, they have been very effective in weakening incoming blasts from energy based weapons.

The two upper plasma guns were replaced with high-powered ECM pods. These pods can interrupt enemy sensor lock-ons by adapting to an enemies iff signals, making the fighter electronicaly appear as either as a friendly or maintain an electronic "cloak" allowing the fighter to get well with in the kill range of its primary weapons. Its primary weapons are plasma "hellbores" located on the top inside bottom wing. These cannons fire a sliver of cryo-stabilized hydrogen in a thin plutonium shell. When fired the projectile is surrounded with in a bolt of high energy plasma. When it impacts with the target the plasma burns through the plutonium shell to its hydrogen core causing a fusion reaction. In essance it's equivalant to shooting an enemy target with the core of a micro-star. Each cannon has a limited capacity of 50 rounds a piece.

The fighter also carries the standard plasma gun system for smaller targets. The starfury was also upgraded with more powerful micro-fusion reactors as well as a state of the art new avionics package, and life support systems. If flown by a skilled pilot, this Starfury can pose a serious threat to even a Sharlin Warcruiser. Due to the expensive nature of its upgrades, this type of starfury was limited to only its contract colony, and only a limited number were made.
