This project started years ago with a conversation at Star Trek--The Experience in Las Vegas. Some time later, and with a salvaged semi-wreck from the eBay scrapyards, I've almost managed to complete her. Modifications and a new custom base are yet to come. I won't bore you with the repair, stripping, and cleaning process. I left her mostly intact except for some necessary reinforcement to hold her shape. Lettering and decaling would be a challenge, and a failed painting attempt convinced me to cut the stylized ship's registry numbers from sheet styrene and glue them in place for later painting, but I'm getting ahead of myself. She received base coats of Krylon semi- gloss black, then given varied shades of black from among the Testors/Model Master selection; metallic black, interior black, gloss black, gunmetal, etc. The engine glow was created with flourescent blue acrylic, then with varied lighter shades of blue progressing to a white spike. It gave her a nice unique bit of color I thought she was lacking. The same could be said for the overly-dramatic semi-Klingon- inpired name and registry in their 'Blood and Steel' color scheme. Inspires more terror that way, y'know. Purists might not like this one much. I was sorta visualizing another Mirror-Universe Empire that might have beem more (or possibly less) brutal that hadn't necessarily fallen as the one described in DS9. Plus, this was something in the slightly more dramatic category that I'd wanted to try for some time. Hope you enjoy.
