By Scott Sperti

Scale: 1/700

MODEL DESCRIPTION: 1/700scale Andromeda from the Starblazers cartoon series

MATERIALS USED: Stock kit, 3 LED's and a battery pack, Testors spray paint and video's for reference.

PAINT: I used Testor's Model Master spray paints in 4 colors; Intermediate blue (Hull), Flat black (Main Engine), Panzer gray (Secondary Engines), and Flat red (side and rear sensors).

DETAILS: I used a fine point permanent marker to detail all the panel lines.

FEATURES: Main guns rotate. Inner supports for LED's.

MODIFICATIONS /CORRECTIONS: This was another kit that I had waited over 15 years to purchase. This kit was more accurate than the 1/500 scale Argo. The only thing I added was the LED's.

The engine and wave motion guns were all molded in transparent red and little holders for the LED's came with the kit. There were some mating problems with the 2-underside rear fuel tank / generators, but everything else went together with ease. I did not glue the upper and lower hulls together so I could replace the LED's if needed. All the smaller parts that cover the mating line between the 2 hulls are only glued to the upper hull, but hold tight to the lower hull, eliminating any movement between them.
