This model features a custom, scratch built fiber optic lighting package. Lighting uses ultra bright Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) instead of incandescent bulbs because they do not give off heat and they have an incredible life span. LED's now come in blue and white which are perfect for this type of application. The electronics for the lighting package is not an after market kit. It was totally designed and built by me using standard off the shelf components from Radio Shack and 64-strand fiber optic cable stripped of it's sheathing from Edmund Optics.
