The Command Carrier is one of the most potent vessels in the Peacekeepr armada, possesing defense screens, frag cannons, numerous fighters and marauder teams at its disposal. Few vessels are capable of out running a Command Carrier, including Leviathans, but the Carriers are not known for maneuverability. Command Carriers have been in service to the Peacekeepers for hundreds of cycles. The most famous of these vessels was the Zelbinion, under the command of the legendary Captain Salto Durka.

Other data:

• Defense Screen: Commonly reffered to as simply the DS, the Defense Screens primary purpose is to defend against hostile weapons fire. The DS is in actuality two screens that overlap one another. This redundancy allows a Command Carrier to still maintain some protection if one of the DS generators is damaged or fails in combat.
• Frag Cannons: A Chakan oil based weapons system that comprises the primary firepower of a Command Carrier. Frag cannons have a range of 45 metras and are of sufficient power to destroy or seriously damage most hostile vessels.
• Prowler Squadrons: The primary fighters of the Command Carriers, Prowler Squadrons engage hostile forces which are either too maneuverable or too small to deal with directly.

• Marauder Transports: Marauder transports primary role is to serve as mobile reconnaisance for Peace Keeper Commandoes, the elite of the Peacekeeper military's fighting forces. Comprised of five man crews, Commandoes are expected to be ruthless as the number of enemies slain is the mark by which a Commando unit is judged. Marauders are also used to transport standard infantry and tech crews.

Model Construction:

I ant models of a number of the ships and vessels that are used on the show Farscape, but since nobody is making kits of them, it's down to scratchbuilding! I started off with all the available views I could locate of the Command Carrier, and made working sketches. I then pulled out my trusty foam-cutting gear, and had at it!

The entire model is made from Dow Insulation foam; the engine nozzels in the aft end are styrene tubing of varying sizes and iameters. The nose-mounted cannon is a modified Loctite superglue cap, and the Frag Cannon are made from small plastic push-pins, with more styrene tubing on them to add scale width to the barrels. A very fun build!
